Next Big Nashville
Been NBNingit up all week. Lost the Nashville Music Awards best bluegrass album award but my wife Sarah Siskind won best Americana album. Watched Ten out of Ten’s last show at the Cannery Ballroom and hung briefly with Alison Krauss; she was all over the scene apparently sitting in with Jeremy Lister on Friday night. Thursday we all headed down to the Victor Wooten Music Camp, played some music and met Chuck Rainey. Last night Sarah played her set at the Basement. I sat in and sang backing vocals. Julie Lee, Andrew Bell, Joy Williams, and Mikky Echo also got up and sang. It was heavy. Watched The Civil Wars, check them out, holy shit that’s good. We skated over to Mercy Lounge just in time to listen to KS Rhoads, one of the most genuine, good natured guys I’ve met in a while. Tonight we’re at the Anchor checking out the Silver Seas, my favorite band. Sometimes Nashvegas is the shit.
